1. How do I activate the software after I purchase it?
To activate your software please do the following:
1. Start the software. The purchase screen will appear.
2. Click "If you have completed a purchase and need to enter your key, click here."
3. Send us an email with the text you see next to Hardware Fingerprint. (you can
just copy the value and paste it in the email reply)
We will then generate the activation code, and send it to you by email in 1 business
day.
2. What shall I do if I forgot my password for iMonitorPC?
There are two passwords you can setup for iMonitorPC. First password is used for
the application you installed on your PC. It is highly recommended to setup a security
question and a security answer so you can reset this password. You can do this when
the start the application first time, or later from the Options window. You can
also setup a password to access your online account. If you forgot this password,
you have to go to
http://www.imonitorpc.com/ForgotPassword.aspx to retrive it. Just
enter your login name and click Retrieve, your password will be sent to the email
address you entered in your profile.
3. My anti-spyware or anti-virus reports a problem with iMonitorPC. Is iMonitorPC
a clean application?
iMonitorPC was certified by over 20 web sites to be 100% clean: no viruses, no spyware,
no malware and no adware.
4. How can I use the software if I have anti-virus software already installed on
my PC?
Click on the name of the antivirus software in the list below to learn how to use
our software when one of this programs is installed on your PC.
If you do not see
the antivirus software you are using in this list, then please go to the support
page and send us detailed information.

5. What
is WinPCap and why iMonitorPC uses it?
WinPcap is the industry-standard tool for link-layer network access in Windows environments.
Thanks to its set of features, WinPcap is the packet capture and filtering engine
of many open source and commercial network tools, including protocol analyzers,
network monitors, network intrusion detection systems, sniffers, traffic generators
and network testers. You can read more about it at http://www.winpcap.org We strongly recommend you
to install the WinPCap library! If you choose to not install it, then some of the
application features (like capturing chat conversations) will not function properly.
6. When my online account expires, will the reports be erased from the server?
As a curtosy, we will store your records for 30 days. After this, your records will
be deleted if you will not renew your subscription to the online remote monitoring
system.
7. Is your application compatible with older version of Windows (95, 98)?
No, our application is compatible only with Windows 2000 or newer operating systems
like Windows XP, Windows XP Pro, Windows 2003, Windows Vista.
8. Is iMonitor detectable by my anti-virus and anti-spyware programs?
Users of third-party security programs should be aware that many such programs routinely
flag parental control programs such as iMonitorPC as "security threats". Typically,
these security related programs provide the user with the ability to exclude iMonitorPC
from future scans. You may also be given the option to make this exclusion when
you initially attempt to download and install iMonitorPC.
9. How can I obtain an SMTP account for sending log files and alerts?
iMonitorPC uses SMTP to send email reports files. Contact your online provider
for the configuration details. However, we encourage all remote users to use our
online service that was specially designed for this functionality.
10. Is iMonitorPC detectable by others using my PC?
iMonitorPC has a variety of stealth features that make it virtually undetectable
to others.
